IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

18th Mar 2020

Dear Parents,

Please check your children’s bags tomorrow as we are sending home an initial paper based home- learning pack for the start of any possible school closure before the Easter holiday. Most Nursery children will have their packs today.

Should we be directed to close for a prolonged period then instructions for e-learning will be sent out at a later date. We are sending you log-in information for sites that we will be using to set work should there be an extended period of closure.

At present we have children out of school, none that we have heard of with coronavirus symptoms but where families are self-isolating for various reasons or children have other illness. We have two members of staff self-isolating- neither with confirmed symptoms but as a precautionary measure.

The advice from Public Health England is that if anyone in your household displays a high temperature or persistent cough, then the family should stay at home.

If you or any of your close family are in any of the high risk groups, with underlying illnesses or compromised immune symptoms, then we will understand if you wish to keep your child at home. Please inform us if this is the case.

Up to now, we have been teaching our normal timetables but obviously we have to be practical and think that this could change in the coming week if more staff and children are away from school. All sporting events to places outside school and educational trips have been postponed for the foreseeable future. At present swimming lessons are continuing for parents who wish children to participate. We are also continuing with extra- curricular clubs after school and at lunchtimes. We are not holding large school assemblies and will do everything to keep children safe.

Please be assured that door handles and hard surfaces are being cleaned during the day and children and staff are washing hands frequently.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Hilary Atkins

Head Teacher
