The Shrubbery School Safeguarding Statement

The Shrubbery School is committed to the health and wellbeing of all our children and staff.

All our Shrubbery Staff receive regular safeguarding training about current legislation and practice. Designated Safeguarding Leads receive termly training updates from Birmingham Safeguarding Board. We expect all members of staff to be fully aware of our policy on safeguarding and the procedures we follow.

 Parents and carers are invited to read this policy on our website.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare. All such information is kept strictly confidential.

If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of your child or another child in our care, you can contact our trained designated safeguarding staff. These individuals are;

Mrs Hilary Atkins (Head Teacher) Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Carol Duckworth ( Deputy Head Teacher) Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Joanne England (Nursery Manager) Designated Safeguarding Lead

If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that she/he is unsuitable to work with children) then you should report this to any one of the DSL staff who will liaise with the Head Teacher about the action to take.

Further policies that relate to safeguarding of our children include:
